Confessions of a GenderTrash Reject

About ‘A One Trans Show’

In Speaking Engagements on September 18, 2008 at 4:33 pm

Just what America needed a comic with a sex-change and an attitude. Edgy, funny, or angry but always equal parts outraged and outrageous, activist/provocateur Riki Wilchins takes on the gender system, gay politics, the sex change establishment, testosterone, political correctness, gender binary,  lesbian/feminism, and the Michgyn Womyn’s Music Festival in a no-holds-barred evening of humor, sketch and improvisation that leaves no rhinestone unturned and no slip showing.

A compelling and intimate voyage of self-discovery, “One Trans Show” is sure to have you rethinking everything you know about bodies, sex and gender.

In 2005 Time Magazine selected her one of “100 Civic Innovators for the 21st Century.”

Wilchins is a founder of the protest group Transexual Menace and author of Read My Lips: Sexual Subversion & the End of Gender; Queer Theory/Gender Theory: An Instant Primer, and GenderQueer: Voices from Beyond the Sexual Binary.

Her work has also appeared in publications like Social Text, the Village Voice, Curve, and the Advocate and anthologies like Woman on Woman III and Pomosexuals.
